The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is delighted to announce Pakistan\u2019s formal entry into competitive football gaming at the international level. A four-member Pakistan team will represent the country in the FIFAe Nations League, one of esports’ most prestigious international competitions that is held under the FIFA banner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move is part of PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani\u2019s strategic shift into building a football ecosystem that goes beyond the playing field. Under the new strategy, esports have been identified as a critical frontier for expanding Pakistan’s footballing footprint, particularly among the country’s digitally-engaged youth. Under President Gilani\u2019s direction, the federation moved swiftly to build the infrastructure, identify players, and meet the requirements to enter FIFAe competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Esports is where millions of young Pakistanis already live,\u201d said President Gilani. We have an obligation as a federation to meet them there and to provide them with a platform to compete.\u201d
PFF Esports Manager Shahzeb Raza explained that the team has been selected through a rigorous process of national trials that were carried out by our partners, Raptr Games. A total of 178 players participated in the trials with the top four being selected in Pakistan\u2019s first-ever team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe FIFAe Nations League is the first step in our roadmap,\u201d said Shahzeb. \u201cThis will be followed by rolling trials as we are on the lookout for the best available talent in Pakistan.
