LAHORE (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): Sports Board Punjab’s selection committee, on the 4th day of trials, has conducted boxing trials at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Contact Body Center on Saturday.
More than 100 male and female boxers from all divisions of the province participated in the boxing trials. The boys’ trials were conducted in 10 weight categories while female athletes appeared in trials in eight weight categories.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, on this occasion said that Sports Board Punjab’s selection committees are conducting trials of Punjab’s all teams in a transparent manner and selecting the best athletes purely on merit.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said that the training camps will be set up for National Games from April 14. “All the arrangements for Punjab’s 2-week training camps have been completed”.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry further said that best facilities will be provided to players during the training camps. “Sports Board Punjab’ coaches will teach modern techniques to players during the camp training. The Punjab contingent will offer excellent performance in the 35th National Games”.
