WAH CANTT (Special Correspondent): The inaugural Chairman PAF Full Contact Karate National Championship, jointly organized by Pakistan Full Contact Karate and the POF Sports Board, concluded on June 14–15 at the POF Sports Complex, Wah Cantt. Over 140 athletes and officials from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Islamabad competed in three weight categories for women and four for men, with participants commending the scale and organization of the national event held in Wah Cantt.
Chairman POF Wah, the chief guest, congratulated Chief Organizer and President of Pakistan Full Contact Karate Shihan Arshad Jan, Vice President Syed Shakeel Ahmed, Muzammil Mehboob, Organizing Secretary Qasim, Rafique Qureshi, and their team for successfully hosting the championship. At the closing ceremony, the Director of Sports and Secretary of the Wah Cantt Sports Board, also present as guest of honor, distributed trophies and cash prizes to winners and honorary shields to officials, while appreciating the growing and healthy trend of full contact karate among both male and female athletes.
In the women’s finals, Mahnoor Bajwa claimed the under 45kg title, while Tasmia Munir won the under 55kg category and Meerab Shahzad emerged national champion in the over 55kg division. Among men, Babar Ali from Punjab won the under 50kg category, Abid Raza from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secured the under 60kg title, and Raja Adeeb from Azad Kashmir won the under 70kg division. In the heavyweight over 70kg category, Mujeebullah from Islamabad retained the national title for the second consecutive year.
