Islamabad(Syed Javed Hassan Shah): President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad Ayub Maryani, has stated that crucial issues like American tariffs should be given top priority at diplomatic and trade levels. He emphasized that this is not just a problem for traders or industrialists but for the entire economy and the livelihoods of millions of laborers. Therefore, this issue should be given the highest priority at diplomatic and trade levels.
He expressed hope that the government will take immediate steps to protect the export sector. He further said that the 29% American tariff on Pakistani exports is a discriminatory measure. If this issue is not resolved soon, it could have severe negative impacts on Pakistan’s economy, the consequences of which will have to be borne not only by the business community but also by the general public. He said that for this purpose, it is essential for the government to enter into a favorable trade agreement with the United States so that Pakistan’s products can maintain their competitiveness at the global level.
