Islamabad (Syed Javed Hassan Shah) Ayub Mariani, President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that bureaucratic hurdles need to be removed to improve the investment environment. He emphasized that policies should be formulated in collaboration with Chambers of Commerce to strengthen public-private partnerships, enhance industrial infrastructure, and ensure effective representation of business interests in policymaking forums. Pakistan’s economic stability, he added, depends on empowering the private sector and creating a favorable environment, especially in the manufacturing sector.
President Ayub Mariani further remarked that empowering youth and facilitating SMEs are crucial to unlocking Pakistan’s full economic potential, which requires a conducive environment for business growth and competitiveness. He welcomed the government’s recently announced five-year tariff reform plan, calling it a “significant step” that could boost Pakistan’s exports by several billion dollars, provided its implementation is transparent and aligned with market realities.
