They will compete for the gold medal on Friday against a team from Finland, who defeated the tournament’s top seed, France, in the quarterfinals.
In their doubles match, the Pakistani pair delivered a dominant performance, defeating Carsten Groeger (Germany) and Pedro Norton (Spain) 6-0, 6-0 to secure their place in the gold medal match.
Meanwhile, Aqeel Khan also reached the singles semifinals after an impressive 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory over Jiri Lokaj (Czech Republic) in the quarterfinals. This win ensures Pakistan will now compete for a silver medal in singles as well.
Additionally, in the mixed doubles category, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, paired with a French player, will compete in the semifinals tomorrow.
