Islamabad (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): Director General of Pakistan Sports Board, Mr. Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of legendary wrestler Din Mohammad.
In his condolence message, the DG PSB stated that Din Mohammad brought immense pride to the nation by winning Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal at the Asian Games held in Manila in 1954. This historic achievement not only laid the foundation of competitive sports in Pakistan but also served as an inspiration for generations to come.
Yasir Pirzada said that Din Mohammad’s contributions will always be remembered, and the nation deeply values his invaluable role in promoting sports. He was a true patriot and a great sportsman. With his passing, Pakistan has lost a national hero.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul the highest place in Jannah and gives strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
