LAHORE (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): The global football leadership has extended their heartfelt congratulations and support to Syed Mohsen Gilani on his recent election as President of the PFF.
Top officials from FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) have commended President Gilani’s vision, leadership, and commitment to revitalizing football in Pakistan.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared his warmest congratulations, stating: “Your knowledge and leadership, your passion and experience will undoubtedly have an important impact on the development of our beautiful game in Pakistan. Convinced of the potential of football in the country, you can count on my support and the help of FIFA to achieve this goal. The doors of FIFA are always open if you wish to discuss our sport, its development and the promotion of its values.”
Furthermore, FIFA General Secretary Mattias Grafstrom has extended a formal invitation to President Gilani to visit FIFA Headquarters in Zurich to discuss Pakistan football’s development goals and strategies. FIFA has also reaffirmed its comprehensive support for PFF’s initiatives.
AFC President Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa echoed strong support, adding: “Your election in Lahore is a clear indication of the trust and confidence the Pakistani football family has in you and your vision to further develop football in your beloved country. Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and be assured of the Asian Football Confederation’s full support for your initiatives.”
SAFF President Kazi Md Salahuddin also sent his greetings: “I am confident that your leadership, experience, and passion will make a significant contribution to the growth and development of our beautiful game.”
In response, PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani expressed sincere gratitude to the international football community: “Thank you very much for your warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations on my election as President of the Pakistan Football Federation. I am truly honored to receive your support and encouragement.”
“While we do not only rely on FIFA’s support, we indeed count on it. Over the past ten years, Pakistan has experienced a period of very limited activity in football, and we are eager to move forward with renewed momentum. We look forward to receiving as much support as possible from FIFA to help us build a lasting legacy for football in Pakistan,” he added.
