Islamabad (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): Prime Minister’s Advisor on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rana Sanaullah Khan, stated that students of Islamabad’s educational institutions are being provided with extensive facilities at the Sports Complex to engage in sporting activities. He added that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, the government will utilize all available resources to steer youth towards constructive and positive pursuits.
He was addressing a special ceremony held at the Islamabad Sports Complex on Tuesday, where sports kits and tracksuits were distributed among students of public educational institutions. The event was attended by Federal Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, Federal Secretary for Education Mohyuddin Wani, Director General of Pakistan Sports Board Yasir Pirzada, and Member of National Assembly Anjum Aqeel Khan.
Rana Sanaullah remarked that previously, only students from private institutions were benefiting from these facilities. “Now, children from federal public schools will also have the opportunity to take part in sporting activities at the Sports Complex,” he said. “When our youth utilize such facilities, it will help cultivate a healthy sports culture in the country. Early participation in sports instills habits that lay the foundation for a balanced and healthy life.”
The Advisor appreciated the efforts of Secretary Mohyuddin Wani and DG Sports Board Yasir Pirzada for launching this inclusive initiative. He emphasized that these opportunities should reach every student in Islamabad’s public schools and assured that the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination will extend its full support.
Federal Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar conveyed thanks on behalf of Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to Rana Sanaullah and DG Sports Board, noting that for the first time, students from government schools are being directly engaged in sports activities at this scale.
DG Pakistan Sports Board Yasir Pirzada said the large turnout of students reminded him of his own school days. He announced that 25,000 students from public schools would receive tracksuits, joggers, and sports equipment. “Each student will be given the chance to participate in a sport of their choice,” he said, adding that professional coaches would also be provided by the Pakistan Sports Board.
Pirzada further shared that special sports activities have been scheduled for students during the summer holidays. He noted that Rana Sanaullah Khan had, from the outset, directed that Sports Board facilities must be accessible to the general public as well.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of sports kits and tracksuits to students from various schools in Islamabad by Advisor Rana Sanaullah Khan.
