Islamabad (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): The nomination process for the elections of three major sports federations under the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has been completed. These include the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation, and Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation. One panel each has submitted nomination papers for the Alpine Club and the Bowling Federation, while three panels are in the running for the Bodybuilding Federation elections.
During the scrutiny of nomination papers, several objections were raised regarding candidates and voter lists across all three federations. These included constitutional deficiencies, nominations for positions not recognized in the federations’ constitutions, missing affiliation certificates from voters, and the submission of nomination letters on personal rather than official association letterheads.
The PSB Election Commission has directed all concerned candidates and associations to resolve these objections by 2:00 PM on June 13. Failing to do so will lead to disqualification as per the governing rules and regulations.
The elections are scheduled to take place on June 20 at the PSB Coaching Centre, Ferozepur Road, Lahore. The polling will be held in three phases: the Alpine Club election at 10:00 AM, the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation election at 2:30 PM, and the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation election at 4:00 PM.
The Election Commission is chaired by Waseem Majid Malik, with Babar Sohail and Zohaib Hassan Gondal serving as commission members.
