ISLAMABAD (Syed Javed Hassan Shah): In a landmark initiative, the Federal Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), has organized the first-ever Summer Sports Camp exclusively for students of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) institutions. Students from all educational zones are actively participating in the camp.
The two-week training camp is being held at the Pakistan Sports Complex from June 30 to July 11, offering coaching in four indoor sports: volleyball, table tennis, chess, and badminton. Female students attend sessions from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by male students from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, under the guidance of expert coaches from PSB.
Originally designed for 350 to 400 participants, the camp has exceeded expectations, drawing in over 500 students so far, with registrations continuing daily — a testament to the overwhelming response and interest from FDE students.
To encourage participation, the IPC Ministry is providing track suits to all attendees. Additionally, Area Education Officers have arranged pick-and-drop services for students, making the initiative even more commendable.
The camp aims to divert students from excessive screen time by engaging them in physical activities that foster discipline, healthy competition, and teamwork. It stands as a model for promoting healthy lifestyles and extracurricular engagement in the federal capital.
Parents have lauded the successful organization of the camp, expressing their appreciation to the Ministry of IPC, PSB, Area Education Officers, and other organizers for this outstanding effort.
